We have tried to indicate the functions via a "circle of light" showing the sequence of operations for the SP-3. Here we will explain it in greater detail.

There are 2 buttons on the SP-3 flashlight. With the lens pointed away from you…..

• Pressing the right-hand button activates the HIGH power white light
• Pressing again activates MEDIUM function
• Pressing again activates LOW function
• Pressing again activates STROBE function
• Pressing again activates RED function
• Pressing again activates STANDBY function

Pressing the left-hand button (starting in STANDBY) takes you directly to RED. Continually pressing the left-hand button reverses the above sequence.

Pressing the opposite button at any time takes you back one step.

Special Functions

When the SP-3 is immersed in water (either freshwater or saltwater) it floats and immediately goes into STROBE mode and remains in that mode until it is both removed from the water and any button is pushed. After these 2 steps, the SP-3 returns to normal operation.

In addition, if the SP-3 is operating in any mode (except the water-activated STROBE mode), it returns automatically to STANDBY in approximately 10 minutes unless overridden. To override, select any mode and continue to hold down the button used to reach that mode. While holding down that button, press the opposite button and hold until you see the red LED flash. You have now overridden the AUTO RETURN TO STANDBY. To return to normal operation, press and release any button.

Lanyard

The removable lanyard is designed to conveniently and comfortably hold the light and act as a safety release if it becomes caught. To attach the lanyard, simply press the end pins into the holes provided in the blue plug, making certain that they are inserted far enough to "click" into place.

To remove the lanyard completely, simply pull on one end of the lanyard until the pin pulls free and then pull out the opposite pin.

NOTE: the light remains waterproof (and floats) even with the lanyard removed.
